Mumbler Holly took her family to check out the Jorvik Pastport!
First stop - DIG
A fun, interactive and educational talk about all the amazing artifacts that have been found across York was followed by an archaeological dig in 4 different themed excavation sites. Bones, pottery, keys and other exciting objects to dig out with a trowel and discover hiding underneath gravel.
Second stop - Barley Hall
Beautiful exposed beams, a banquet hall, old fashioned games, dressing up and beasts to discover in this medieval townhouse tucked away down one of York’s snickets!
Last stop - JORVIK Viking Centre
Travel underneath the Coppergate centre to discover a Viking village underground. Explore the sights, smells and sounds of the Vikings as you travel around in a suspended ride!
We managed to see all 3 attractions in one day with a stop for lunch. Each attraction nicely led onto the next as the things we leant in DIG were visualised in Barley Hall and JORVIK. A really interactive day out with lots to see and do at all 3 attractions!
