The importance of supporting local businesses as well as buying from quality, highly trusted smaller businesses has never been so high. Convenience is also so important – especially with a young family.
So when local Dairyman, Philip C. Huyton, approached me to let me know about his products and service, I knew it would be really popular with Mumblers.
Put simply, Philip is a milkman.. but in reality he’s offering so much more than that! He’s also passionate about high quality products and reducing plastic waste, As he put it:
Plastic waste in our Oceans was fast becoming an issue, so we decided to further promote the Doorstep round, Promoting milk in glass bottles we are now 96% Plastic Free on our doorstep deliveries. The plastic waste really means a lot to me and my Family, as before I moved to York, I lived in Bridlington where I made my living from The North Sea – working as a Fisherman with the local Fleet.
As part of the Free Range Dairy Network, he was the first Milk Delivery service in Yorkshire to change to 100% Free Range Milk and still the only one in York. All his milk comes from small, family run farms in the Yorkshire Dales.
Another benefit to using a milk man – reducing plastic waste! He uses glass bottles to be reused and is 96% plastic free on the doorstep deliveries.
As well as milk he delivers free range eggs, fresh orange in glass bottles, a selection of cheeses, premium quality butter and a large selection of longley farm products including cottage cheese and yoghurts.
Delivering to all areas in York with the exception of Copmanthorpe.

Free Range Dairy – Pasture Promise
We put cows at the heart of our milk production standards. Only milk produced from cows that graze a minimum of 6 months per year can carry the Pasture Promise logo. We’re here to support traditional dairy farming practices through our work with farmers and cows in the UK.
