Dobbies Little Seedlings Childrens workshop – A Mumbler Review
Mumbler, Rachel, recently went along to the NEW & FREE Gardening workshop for children from Dobbies, see what they thought here…
Last week whilst plant shopping at Dobbies Garden Centre, i noticed a sign for a free Gardening workshop for Children. This is held the first Sunday of each month at Dobbies Garden Centre.
I went online and booked the girls onto it which was today and was a Tomato Workshop.
We arrived for a 10.15 start.
We were taken into the cafe area where they marked us off their list. In total there were just 5 children including my 2.
We then were taken into the outdoor seating area which was actually under cover to start the workshop.
The kids were given worksheets which included colouring, wordsearches and mazes.
They then were taught everything they needed to know about tomatos. Where they originated from, colours, sizes, uses and much more.
They then got to help the man plan some tomato plants and were given one to take home with them so they can plant their own.
They were each given a drink and got to make their own tomato from a paper plate. At the end they were given an attendance booklet where they are given stamps each workshop they attend and can get learning certificates along the way.
Such a great free little workshop for children, it lasted around an hour and the girls are already looking forward to the next.
Next Workshop will be on Sunday 7th August at 10.15am.
On Tuesday 23rd August there is also a special Little Seedlings holiday club where your little ones can learn all about how to create a summer sanctuary in your garden for plants and wildlife. More details and booking HERE
