New Experiences and Opportunities at Free Saturday Adult Learner Morning
Don’t miss out on FREE sessions at this year’s Adult Learner Taster Morning at York College on Saturday 11th May.
You are welcome to take part in a free two hour taster session at your local College, to learn something new, develop your confidence, boost your future job prospects and make new friends!
Adult Learning is great fun, there’s no better way to start something new, to try out a new hobby or skill or gain qualifications to plan for the future – all in a supportive and friendly environment. You never know, it might be the start of something you enjoy for the rest of your life!
The York College Adult Learning Taster Morning enables you to do something new, such as learning ‘how to throw a pot’ or get started with dressmaking or printmaking and enjoy being ‘hands on’ with jewellery making, stone carving, or creating the ‘perfect’ gateaux! There are sessions on carpentry & joinery, bricklaying, and if you want to get really messy, you can even learn how to plaster a wall!
With a long list of sessions to choose from, across a variety of subjects, it is easy to find new learning opportunities to match your personal interests and future goals. Topics include (and are not limited to); finding out about your child’s development by experiencing play from a child’s perspective, offering an insight into career roles in Early Years and Education. Acquire new skills with an introduction to hairdressing or reflexology to get you started in the beauty sector. If you’re interested in sport, why not join the session on sports massage or learn how to be a fitness instructor? – you never know where it might lead. Or, if you have a head for numbers, sign up to an introduction to AAT Accounting, or brush up on your current skills with an introduction to Business and Management.
Allow York College to set you off on an exciting journey of discovery learning basic Italian, or having a go at British Sign Language to communicate with the hard of hearing, or go hurtling into the future, learning to live in the digital world.
Get to meet our experienced tutors and discover the College’s state-of-the-art surroundings on Sim Balk Lane, in this fun-filled, educational morning, available for adults aged 19 and above and of all abilities.

Each session will run from 10.00am – 12.00pm. Please arrive for 9.30am to register your arrival. Refreshments, including tea and coffee will be available.
