We host the Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens Wildlife Day every year to enthuse people about the wildlife in their gardens and provide them with practical tips on how to share even the smallest of spaces with animals, birds and insects.
Have close encounters with the birds and moths that we find in the garden; take part in mini-beast hunts; meet some visiting wildlife β you are sure to have some surprises. Find out what owls eat and why the tansy beetle is the jewel of York. There’s something for all the family and plenty of space to play.
Experts from the following groups will be leading activities throughout the day: Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Butterfly Conservation, British Arachnological Society,East Yorkshire Bat Group, Natural England, North Yorkshire Rotters, PLACE (People, Landscape And Cultural Environment of Yorkshire), Project: Wild CIC, Tansy Beetle Action Group, Urchins Hedgehog Care, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
We also have a tea room serving drinks, cake and ice cream all day.
