Christmas is always a magical time of year but first Christmases seem to have that extra bit of sparkle! First Christmas as Mr and Mrs, first Christmas in your new home, or baby’s first Christmas, which some find the most magical of all.
My first Christmas as a parent was in 2016 with my beautiful nine month old baby girl. I, like most new mums and dads, worried about making everything perfect and super special. But the reality is, these tiny humans don’t care how much we spend, how clean and tidy the house is, how well the dinner is cooked or what outfit they wear. They simply love the fact you’re there. To see your smiling face and have extra cuddles, looking at the twinkling lights on the tree and of course crinkling and ripping the wrapping paper lying on the floor! Through your babies eyes, the extra magical sparkle at Christmas is simply YOU.
So my top advice for new parents celebrating baby’s first Christmas this year is simply this. Enjoy it. Every single second. Don’t put pressure on yourselves to cook the best meal, buy the most expensive gifts or work tirelessly to make sure the house is spick and span, just enjoy being there in that very special moment. So what if things don’t go to plan, it all adds to your special memories!
Capturing these special moments in life is something which is extremely important to me. My design background and passion to create personalised keepsakes for people to treasure forever has urged me to start my new venture, Rainbows & Flutterbyes.
2017 will be Rainbows & Flutterbyes first Christmas (there really is a first Christmas experience for everything!) I feel extremely excited to invite you all to be part of my journey and stay up to date with my new designs, competitions and news coming in 2018.
So as the official countdown begins I would personally like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas.
