Drama Kids and DK Youth Theatre classes nurture ALL children to help them achieve their potential. Our unique Development Through Drama programme increases children’s Confidence, Social Skills and Creativity and boosts Self-Esteem.
Hour-long classes include a new improvisation or script every week. Performance on stage in July with each child fully involved in the whole piece.

BE YOURSELF, BE AMAZING 6-18 YEARS
From musical theatre, to comedy, drama and filmmaking – our classes allow young people to get hands on, creating their own content and learning industry skills, whilst having a blast! At PQA we build self-belief by encouraging young people to step out of their comfort zones, develop new skills and be their amazing self. Classes are split into three age groups 6-9 years, 10-12 years and 13-18 years and students spend 3 hours with industry expert teachers leading sessions in musical theatre, film and tv and comedy and drama.

York’s Award-Winning Stage School offering weekly Acting, Singing, Musical Theatre and Dance classes from our studios at Theatre@41, Monkgate.
Led by Principal, Nik Briggs, our tutors are all professionally trained and continue to work within the industry, meaning the training your child receives is up to date, relevant and of the highest standards. Alongside our Award-Winning Stage School classes we also offer LAMDA, Jazz, Ballet and Tap Dance classes.
YORKIE PUDS (0 – 3 YEARS)
Our structured and theme varying Baby and Toddler classes will immerse our youngest stars in a world of positive creativity that will help them develop the skills they need to truly rise.
TODDLER DANCE (18 MONTHS+)
We will introduce our Toddlers to the world of Ballet & Tap technique. starting off with Ballet before switching our shoes for the second half of the class, where we’ll be tapping our toes and immersing the children into a world of rhythm and sound.
KIDS DANCE (4-6 YEARS)
This class instills technique in our young dancers in a fun environment. Focusing on Ballet and Musical Theatre dance technique, students will be introduced to the fundamental elements of these disciplines through a range of exciting and engaging activities.
Access All Areas is York Theatre Royal’s space for young people to meet like-minded people and be part of a supportive community. In AAA we use drama and creativity to build self-esteem and aspirations, encouraging young people to have fun and celebrate who they are. Sessions are deliberately kept small and are suitable for young people who for different circumstances may not feel comfortable accessing mainstream Youth Theatre. Sessions are free and transport costs can be supported.

Bolshee Young Creatives is a space for creative young people aged 8-14 to come together and make stuff happen!
