Explore York is here for you with a family-friendly welcome at our 15 libraries across York.

Our Archives welcome families too with special sessions throughout the year.

You’ll find a library open somewhere near you every day of the week, and on evenings and weekends. Our main Reading Cafes open on most bank holidays too. Our online E-Library is always open.

As well as books, you’ll find free storytimes, toy library, Lego clubs and all sorts of events for children and families.

• Meet up with friends or join a group for free and low-cost activities.
• Borrow free e-audiobooks and e-books for all ages on the Libby App.
• Read e-newspapers and e-magazines for free through Press Reader.
• PCs are free to use. You can scan and print as well with digital support on hand from our knowledgeable and friendly staff.
