“We flew from Leeds / Bradford to Nice, hired a car from the airport and drove to the Eurocamp Holiday Green Park near Frejus last summer hols, the South of France is beautiful and the site had everything the kids loved, great pools, kids clubs etc. Also fab having the car to get out and explore. I would def recommend.” CC, Feb 18

“I’ve done Canvas holidays in Lake Annecy, France. I found the sleeping areas fine but the kitchen small. The site was cool and we had a good holiday.” LW, May 18

“The best place we’ve been to is Annecy. It is in the French alps. 3 hours by train from Paris or fly into Geneva. It’s on the most beautiful lake which has beaches, you can hire boats and there’s a cycle route around it. The town itself is very beautiful, there’s a brilliant market on, a castle and plenty of shops and restaurants. It’s very close to Geneva.” KS, May 18

“We’ve been to La Baume in Nice, and Les Menhirs in Brittany. Both really nice, but La Baume had slightly more stuff, with better kids pool etc. And more kids activities on an early evening.” AC, Jan 18

“We’ve done Argeles sur Mer with Canvas (who we use year on year and have been consistently good value and reliable). The place itself was comparable to Filey, but the site (La Sirene) was outstanding. Lots of things for my then 8 and 4 year old to do, kids clubs fantastic, evening entertainment and pools fab.” CB, Feb 18

“We have gone to Camping Bel at Le Tranche Sur Mer in the Vendee too many times to mention, its lovely not too commercialised everything is on your doorstep including an amazing white sandy beaches.” PS, Feb 18

“We went on a Eurocamp one last year it was called Chateau de Galinee. It was lovely. It was a small campsite so you could always see the kids. The pool was lovely too. It wasn’t far from the local town and the ferry was just over an hour. It was near St Malo which is gorgeous too.” GC, Jan 18

“We went to Saint Avit Loisirs near Le Bugue a couple of years ago. The kids loved it and plenty to do nearby.” LC, May 18

Italy – Lake Garda

Bella Italia

“A friend went to Bella Italia Lake Garda which looked great, we did Altomincio on lake Garda which was lovely but you need a car. This year we’re doing Les Alicourts in France.” DP, Jan 18

“We did Eurocamp Bella Italia at Lake Garda. Lake amazing and facilities at camp excellent but it was massive and really busy! Definitely not a quiet campsite.” LG, Feb 18

“I would highly recommend Bella Italia campsite. Has everything and more and is right on the lakeside. It’s fab. We booked through Eurocamp but you can book direct or through a number of different tour operators. Have a great time.” KC, Jun 18

“Yes, I can recommend here too! We stayed here earlier this year. We found it to be brilliantly located as a base for seeing major towns/cities in the region too. Was great for us (went with our, then, 3.5yr old and 12mth old).” KL, Jun 18

Camp Eden

“We really liked Camp Eden near Salo was quiet so depends what you want. Kids enjoyed the pools.” PS, Jun 18

“Camping Eden on Lake Garda. The site is great I went there for years as a teenager and as an adult. Is in an inlet not far from Salo so it is great for swimming in the lake. It is a quiet place but the site has a restaurant and there are 2 more in ports portese. The boats stop there too which means that you don’t have to drive everywhere. The site has eurocamp is as well as Canvas and a few others. It is hilly but the views are amazing.” HP, Feb 18

Altomincio

“We stayed at Altomincio Family Park last year with Suncamp holidays. The pool area was fab, perfect for your littlies, and the rest of the park was lovely too. Would highly recommend. You’d need a hire car but it wasn’t a problem for us. We visited Verona, loads of places around Lake Garda, and Venice.” LS, Feb 18

“We went here last summer too, although booked through eurocamp itself. I believe it can be cheaper to book with Altomincio itself. It’s the perfect place for young children.” TO, Feb 18

“Altomincio here too….perfect family holiday with young kids. Amazing site. It’s traffic free too so extremely safe for youngsters.” SH, Feb 18

Spain (camping)

“We went to Playa Montroig resort in Spain, we flew to Reus airport and took a 20min taxi to the resort, everything you need is on site like shops ect and the facilities are well maintained and good variety of food, there are some restaurants in walking distance along the beach which is also right on site, and if you don’t have a car a bus that goes from right outside the resort.” AN, Jan 18

The Netherlands

Duinrell

“Duinrell in Holland is fab. Easy to get to on the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam too.” HC, Jan 18

“We did Duinrell in Holland when G was almost 3 and it was fantastic and perfect for his age…It’s near the beach and set within an amusement park with onsite water park too. Lots for families also a bus ride to Amsterdam and short drive to Keukenhof botanical garden which were spectacular!! Couldn’t recommend enough and we are planning on going back. Easy peasy journey there too on the ferry from hull, was hassle free and the kids loved the experience. On the other side it was 45 mins easy journey to the site too! Brilliant.” CP, May 18

“Has a mini theme park onsite you have free access to. Our two wanted to go every day and never got bored of it! We barely left the site other than to walk into the main town.
You do have to pay to use the swimming pool though (or did when we went). They are very strict on armband rule for children under 1m20 even if they are competent swimmers.” SM, Jun 18

“Great site. Water park and theme park on site and within easy reach of Amsterdam and Rotterdam.” CV, Oct 18
