I have been an independent midwife for 19 years. I offer antenatal care, postnatal care, one off appointments, birth exploration appointments if thoughts of a previous birth are still lingering, breastfeeding support etc etc.
My clients have taught me a lot over the last few years and I’m now convinced more than ever that a person’s pregnancy birth and postnatal experience has the potential to be highly transformative, joyful and empowering. However, I’m also deeply conscious of the fact that sometimes pregnancy or birthing a baby can be the catalyst for emotional, physical and spiritual difficulties and I’m committed to walk alongside you through the sometimes hard to navigate muddle that early parenthood can bring.
My care is individualised, homebased and family centered, and I will bring plenty of time to discuss anything you can think of in the comfort of your own home.

My career started as a Nurse in the RAF then onto Midwifery. In my career as a Nurse and Midwife I gained unforgettable experience in the NHS and in Africa. As a Midwife I was seeing women not believing in themselves, their bodies or the process of birth. So I became a Hypnobirthing Teacher, providing Hypnobirthing courses worldwide. My Antenatal & Birth Preparation Course was then created utilising my experience as a Midwife, my Hypnobirthing training, and my passion for supporting and empowering women. Now providing pre and postnatal courses to women in York.

I qualified as a Medical Herbalist the same year I had my second child, and as I built my practice (Bespoke Botanicals) it became heavily influenced by my own experience of pregnancy, birth and the rollercoaster ride of new parenthood.
I became increasingly aware of how vital good support and information is to help survive each new challenge.
I trained as a doula so that I could offer better support at the start of this journey and now work with mums (and dads) -to-be offering antenatal workshops, one-to-one birth preparation, birth support, and pregnancy and post-natal massage at York Mother Nurture

I am a dance teacher and a fun-loving single mum. I was ‘blessed’ with a baby that wanted to be attached to me 24/7. That’s when baby-wearing became not just a novelty but an absolute necessity. Dancing daily I realised how perfect the combo of dancing with your baby can be and Mama’s Got Moves was born.
I run baby-wearing dance classes to give women a break from the monotony of life with an infant, a twist on a mum and baby group, a chance to move, have a laugh and do something for you.

Hello! I’m Anna and I run Sing and Sign Baby Signing in the York area.
I first discovered Sing and Sign as a new parent and, after a fabulous signing experience (it remains one of my most enduring, treasured memories of my early parenting journey), the opportunity arose a few years later to run Sing and Sign here in York.
Sing and Sign Babes, our course for babies under 6m, didn’t exist when my children were babies but I wish that it had. Teaching it to others has given me a wonderful insight into the power we possess to communicate well with even the smallest of babies!

I’ve always been passionate about photography, but it wasn’t until I was pregnant with my first daughter that I took it forward as a career.
During my maternity leave, I trained as a newborn photographer. The more I learnt, the more I was fascinated by the transformation journey a family goes through – from mum-to-be, to parents of a newborn – and then how quickly babies change and grow. It all happens so fast.
It got me thinking: we’re so used to taking photos on our phones, but how often do we get a picture of our whole family together? Usually, someone’s behind the camera and they miss out. People don’t print photos much anymore, so pictures get forgotten and time moves on.
I want to capture and celebrate precious milestones with portraits of you and your loved ones that fit perfectly into your home and that you’re proud to display. Most of all, I am here to help create beautiful images for you to enjoy now, and for your babies to love and remember you by when they grow up. It’s about making memories together.
Ola is York’s maternity, newborn & early-childhood photographer who is utterly in love with taking young families to relaxing photo sessions in nature! This is where she can capture both little & big personalities in true colours while in play!

I’m Jackie: wife, mum, and baby photographer extraordinaire!
I am not that perfect yummy mummy; I’m a working mum trying to balance all the plates of life at once, and frankly it sometimes takes wine and a supportive family to keep them spinning. I must be doing something right, though, as I have raised a child to age 15, a husband to age 48, and a baby photography business, Babies By Jackie, to age 14 and we are all still alive!
In summary: I’m fun, I’m lovely, and I really know what I’m doing. If that’s what you’re looking for in a photographer, get in touch!
