The Prince’s Trust Team programme is a 12 week personal development course run by the charity aimed at re-engaging young people aged between 16-25 who are currently not in education, employment or training.
The programme is full time for the 12 weeks and is fully funded including all travel costs and food. It does not effect those currently claiming benefits as it noted to be a positive step towards securing employment. The course is designed to improve confidence, motivation and skills with excellent results,
“70% of unemployed team members go onto a job or education within 3 months of completing the course”
The team consists of up to 15 young people at a time with a team leader and support staff. Over the 12 weeks the team plan and complete projects within our community to benefit others, help build their work related skills and confidence.
The course also includes a residential week away with outdoor pursuits that increase their team work skills, self worth and responsibility for others.
There is a focus on CV building, interview techniques and planning for the future with input from the charities supporters such as NatWest providing the young people with vital skills and advice.
Team members also embark on a two week work placement during the course, if any local businesses would like to support our team by offering a placement for one of our young people then please get in touch.
The team base is in New Earswick and easily accessible on the number 1 bus.
