We have spent time tentatively selecting the irresistible selection of cheeseboards from soft and smelly to blended and flavoured, we have something for every palate. Fancy something to warm you up? Our toasties cover all bases from the Triple Cheese, to the Eiffel 65. You will enjoy a cheesey taste sensation. All toasties are loaded and filled to the brim!
A light-bite can be just as satisfying at Love Cheese, take home a bit of Love Cheese by stopping at our deli counter and cheese fridge and make your own cheese board at home, with our Olives of the Day and Cheese of the Month

The Potions Cauldron is the World’s most magical drinks emporium and serves magic daily on Shambles in York. You can enjoy a potion drink that comes to life if you do the potion spell, or try our TIK TOK famous Spellbound Butterscotch Beer, or you can even mix your own slush potion that comes with magical powers. We also stock many magical items perfect as souvenirs or gifts for a special wizard.
For only £5.99 you can also try our new Potions Experience located in our Secret Potion room and have a potion mixed for you by a Wizard with a few surprises as the room comes to life and you learn the secrets of potion-making! Grown-up Wizards can even try some poison in their potion.
The Potions Cauldron is a York must-visit for wizards of all ages on Shambles, York’s most famous street.
Good to know – The experience lasts 25 minutes and may not be suitable for Wizards under 6 years old or anyone of a very nervous disposition. Uniquely Local is an independent Yorkshire business working with local suppliers, artists and makers to provide a range of Yorkshire based experience days and experience gift vouchers.
The business was founded by friends Rachel and Ema, both full-time mums living in North Yorkshire with young families. The idea for Uniquely Local came from their own desire to find interesting, memorable experience gifts that they’d be pleased to receive whilst promoting Yorkshire & supporting all the fantastic independent businesses based in Yorkshire.
The website has experiences to suit everyone; all ages, individuals, couples, groups and budgets. All interests are catered for with gift experiences in food and drink, outdoor and adventure, crafts and creative and so much more. Whatever the reason Uniquely Local experience gifts make memories that last a lifetime. It’s not just the thought, it’s the experience that counts.
We are proudly independent gin makers, using traditional and sustainable methods in York’s only distillery. We make some of the world’s best gins – regularly winning top medals at the biggest international spirits competitions. Three of our gins are classics – London Dry, Old Tom and Navy Strength. All three have won major gold medals. The other three are inspired by York’s history – Roman Fruit (Romans), Grey Lady (ghosts) and Chocolate & Orange (chocolate). ‘History in the Tasting’ indeed!
All our bottles and packaging are plastic free and our distillery runs on 100% green electricity. We drive emission-free electric vehicles and buy local wherever possible. All our bottles, packaging and labels are made in Yorkshire. All our gins are made in York.
