Getting to York

By train

Travelling to York by train is one of the easiest ways to get here. Both LNER and Grand Central operate services into York. Direct trains also operate Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle via TransPennine Express. Book your train tickets early to get the best savings with advance train fares.

You can travel from London, Edinburgh or Manchester to York in about 2 hours, making it the perfect location for a short break with the family.

York train station is located in the city and is just a short walk from many hotels. As you step out of the station you will be able to see York city walls and York Minster which is just a 15 minute walk away.

By bus

You can travel to York by bus and gain easy access to the city centre. You can avoid the stress of driving into a city centre you don’t know well by using York’s Park and Ride’s from First Bus. You can also travel to York on Coastline buses from Scarbourgh, Whitby and more or use East Yorkshire bus services if you are travelling from Hull and the surrounding areas.

By car

York is located less than 30 minutes from the A1/M meaning you are well located for the M1/M62 motorway network.
