York residents Jon and Mia O’Malley own and operate Tutor Doctor York. They are passionate about education and self-improvement and bring a real-world approach to learning – equipping students with the skills required to navigate, evolve and thrive in the often daunting world of work and beyond.
Jon and Mia’s three children embody this principle: each has their own personality, opinions and passions, and haven’t always conformed to the educational ‘norms’. But, with guidance, mentoring and support in either vocational or university routes, their paths are well lit, steering them all towards a bright future.
Jon has decades of hands-on experience in the financial world, working with blue chip multinational companies such as Coca-Cola, Universal and Experian.
Mia brings many years of Leadership and Account Management to Tutor Doctor York, with international experience across both Sales and Legal Services at companies including Sainsbury’s and CRS in the UK, plus Australia’s leading premium retailer, David Jones.
Each of their large team of tutors is a subject specialist, often to a Master’s Degree level and with high grades. An increasing number are former teachers who bring expert knowledge of curricula and how best to target their students’ specific learning and development goals.
