If you are doing an online class then please let us know about it by contacting email@example.com and we’ll get you listed here too.
Come and join us every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am for some online craft and storytelling fun!
The class begins with ‘Hellos’ followed by our Crafty Tales song. Then it’s time for the craft activity; we make this all together, taking you through the instructions step by step and will be there to support you. Each craft is simple to create and uses basic material that you can find around the house.
Once the craft is completed, it’s time for the interactive story centred around a popular picture book. It always includes songs, games, dancing, and characters to make it fun and educational.
Crafty Tales is aimed at 2-6 year olds but all children are welcome. It’s £3.50 and classes last 50 minutes.

Reading Fairy York LIVE @Home Interactive classes
Looking for something new and exciting for your toddler / pre-schooler to enjoy at home with the BONUS of developing their critical language and literacy skills?
Phonics and storytelling classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers, where we bring stories to life and nurture a love of reading, letter sounds, books and imagination – from our home to yours.
We run progressive classes; Toddler Tales (12 months+), Story Stars (2+ years) and Reading Recruits (3-5 years). They are an educational and interactive family experience, rather than something to sit and watch, so children do not have to sit still! Sessions include; sensory and performance storytelling, songs and rhymes, first words and fun phonics games, picture book time and more! Our Reading Recruits classes help to prepare children for school using a synthetic phonics programme and early literacy activities to develop confidence and language skills.
A trial is £12 per family for 3 weeks, which includes 3 LIVE classes (recordings can be sent if you miss the session) and access to exclusive content in our closed @Home Facebook community group.
Looking for high-quality resources to keep children and young people interested in and learning about science? The Physics Outreach team, in collaboration with the Departments of Chemistry and Biology, is offering a weekly newsletter that highlights websites, apps, videos and hands-on activities suitable for ages 5-18 (and the rest of the family, too!). If you would like to receive these emails, please sign up on our website.
A series of bite-size ‘lockdown nature’ videos. Each video features a different bird or minibeast that children might find or hear where they are now. They’re all filmed in my back garden in York, and each brings to life a poem from my award-winning children’s science-meets-poetry books ‘Buzzing! Discover the poetry in garden minibeasts’ and ‘Flying High! Discover the poetry in British birds’.
Each video includes the written text of the poem, and encourages children to perform the poem themselves and to send me a video or audio of them doing it. Also included are written facts about the creature, also as featured in my books. Often included, too, are links to online recording schemes, so children can record what they’ve seen or heard.
In these crazy and uncertain times TiP are here for you and your little ones and their curious minds! Join us daily Monday – Thursday for a scheduled live broadcast. 🎥

Our broadcasts will tie together everything all in one place, providing suggested preparation, activities in context with discussions and follow up learning. The most important thing for us is providing families with a sense of interaction and community during times of isolation, we’ll be encouraging children (with the help of their guardians of course) to upload their creations onto social media sharing their ideas and fantastic work for all to see!
Broadcasts will take place on Google Classroom which you will be invited to join through a private link once you have signed up.Don’t worry if you miss the 3.15 slot, all videos and resources will be archived for you to access at anytime.
