What’s it like? “The Drift-In is set right in the centre of town, making it a handy meeting place in the city. It has a relaxed, friendly vibe that feels like a grown up space that is equally welcoming for kids. We spotted at least one family with a baby in a pram and another with older children. There’s room for prams and a spacious baby change (see below). There’s a wide menu to suit all tastes and appetites, so whether you fancy a full English or Steak & Eggs, or something lighter like a Granola bowl, there’s something for you! We spotted several vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options as well. Tempting-looking cakes and traybakes are available at the counter too if you fancy coffee and cake.”
What we ate! “What a delicious-looking menu! We were spoilt for choice and could have happily ordered several things on the Breakfast menu. Eventually we settled on a Breakfast Hash for me (a yummy plateful of garlic potatoes, crispy bacon, avocado, fried egg, spicy mayo and crispy onions – perfect Sunday morning fare); an stack of 3 American Pancakes with bacon, fried egg, maple syrup and maple butter for Dad; and a kid’s portion American Pancake with strawberries and Nutella for our 6 year old. It was all scrummy, and three absolutely clean plates at the end tells you all you need to know! We’ll definitely be back.
For drinks, I sampled an “Apearatif”, one of the many freshly-made juices on offer – made from apple, pear and lime, this clean-tasting juice was perfect to cut through my indulgent Breakfast Hash! The coffee was also good (we tried an Americano and a Latte). Our Mini Mumbler had a carton of Apple & Mango juice. Water is readily available on the counter as well to serve yourself.”
What the parents loved! “I appreciated the fact that, although pancakes weren’t listed on the Kids’ Menu, the staff were very accommodating to make a single large pancake for our 6 year old (who wouldn’t get through an adult portion). The Kids’ Corner with a small selection of books, toys for young children, coloured pencils and blank paper and themed colouring sheets was a nice touch. It also has a large bathroom with a fold down baby change table, with plenty of room to wheel a pram into.”
What the child loved! “The pancakes were fluffy and amazing!” (verdict of our 6 year old pancake connoisseur). He also loved the real motorbike mounted on the wall, as well as the “Dog Gallery” of pooch Polaroids!

This local independent Cafe in Huntington, near York serves delicious homemade food and caters for dietary requirements with a vegan menu and plenty of gluten-free options. They offer an all-day breakfast menu which includes a full breakfast (veggie option available) and a range of breakfast rolls – all combinations of egg, sausage and bacon possible! Or you could choose chunky toast with a variety of toppings such as avocado, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

What’s it like? “Millie Fox is a local cafe in Huntington but ‘Extra’ the decor is gorgeous, the food is all homemade but it still has a lovely down to earth feel & good prices. They are really excellent at catering for different dietary requirements with a whole vegan menu & loads of gluten-free options too.”
What we ate! “We had breakfast. Sausage sarnie for Meg & smoked salmon on gluten free bread for me. I had a lovely cappuccino & Meg enjoyed a kid’s hot chocolate (white chocolate also available!) and a bubble tea to take away. It was all lovely. ”
What I loved! ” I loved how much space there was & that so many other small businesses were supported in the ‘gift’ area. Little candles, gifts & items are available to buy. The wide range of food & drink was fabulous. ”
What Meg loved! “It was really friendly & chilled. The decorations were great. I enjoyed colouring & the pencils were great.”

The 1st floor Bar & Restaurant is open to the public – you don’t have to pay/use the obstacle park to eat or drink at Agility! This award-winning farm shop and café specialises in locally grown produce and serves breakfast from 9 – 11.30am. A Mama Doreen’s breakfast includes an amazing selection of breakfast classics and is served until 11.30am everyday. The Mama Doreen’s breakfast includes a toasted bagel with scrambled egg & sausage or bacon, a warm cheese scone topped with chutney and bacon, a seasonal berry coulis, fruity cinnamon toast, a Danish pastry, a blueberry muffin, a shot of fruit juice and tea or coffee!
