If you need to get a snow fix at any other time of the year, then a trip to Xscape in Castleford is your best bet. You can have a great time whatever the weather! You can enjoy real snow in Snozone, where you can learn to ski, snowboard or enjoy some family fun sledging!
When it snows, there is so much fun to be had and we don’t want to dampen your enthusiasm but want you to stay safe. Here are our top tips for staying safe in the snow. Whilst many of them sound like common sense, it’s easy to get carried away in the excitement.
โ๏ธ It’s best to get out sledging early before the snow gets too icy or compacted
โ๏ธ Avoid loose-fitting clothing or scarves that might get caught on something.
โ๏ธ Pick your slope carefully. The best ones have a long flat area at the bottom so you can safely slide to a stop
โ๏ธ Avoid any slopes that lead towards a road, car park, trees or any other obstacles!
โ๏ธ Never sledge when it gets dark or poor lighting – you need to be able to see any potential risks
โ๏ธ Wear the right clothing – warm, waterproof clothing, wellies or snow boots and of course, a hat and gloves
โ๏ธ Take spare clothes for your children if you are planning on going out for the day. Nothing worse than soggy clothes and gloves
