York Child Contact Centre offers an excellent service to parents when relationships have broken down. We provide a safe and welcoming venue where children can maintain and re-establish a relationship with their non residential parent. The Centre is run from Acomb Parish Church Hall. We have a large and well equipped room with toys and equipment which is available for the users of the Centre. Several families use the Centre at a time. Residential parents can bring their children to the Centre confident that their children will be safe and well looked after whilst in the care of the other parent.
Working once or twice a month for 3 hours on a Saturday , volunteers are essential in helping to run our supported contact sessions, providing a safe and calming environment for the families visiting . As a volunteer you will work as part of a team , supporting staff and service users, greeting and engaging with families as well as observing contact.
