Yorkshire Air Museum – May Half Term

“Elvington 44/45:  The Fight For Liberty”
Our current theme at the museum covers not just the 80th anniversary of D-Day but much more besides. Telling stories through the prism of aircraft in our collections and through the site itself, there will be new displays, videos and information boards around our Halifax Mk III and Dakota, with the latter having been painted with invasion stripes.

Sit in a crash truck! (27th and 30th May only)
Attention large vehicle lovers! We’ll be opening the fire station on Monday and Thursday of half term, with a chance to get inside our huge airport crash truck. Available all day on those days, no need to book a slot.

‘Hidden Harriers’ trail
Our mascot ‘H’ the Harrier jump jet has been camouflaged around the site. Can you spot all ten of H’s hiding places and find the letters that make up our secret word? A great free trail for kids of all ages.

Have you visited our aeroplane-themed playground yet? Custom made for us in 2023, this offers a safe space for our young explorers to climb and play.

Cafe and Gift Shop
Stop for a bite to eat at Cafe 77 and then have a look around our gift shop to browse carefully-chosen gifts for aviation enthusiasts.
