Fountains by floodlight

As the nights draw in and the weather gets colder, resist the urge to hibernate! There are still plenty of adventures to be had here at Fountains Abbey.

On Saturday evenings throughout October you can experience something truly spectacular as you explore the illuminated ruins of the abbey. Stand back to see the light dominating the night sky, listen to a live performance from the choir, or join our adult tour and let one of our abbey guides take you on a historical journey, revealing some of the secrets of this amazing building.

You can dress up as a monk for the evening on a family abbey tour. Get into character, slip on a habit and step back in time to find out what it would’ve been like to be a monk at Fountains Abbey. If you’re lucky you might even catch a glimpse of the mysterious roving monk…

Last entry is at 8pm. Half price admission.

Pick up a warm drink and tuck into a pulled pork or tasty chicken sandwich. There will be veggie options available, too.
