Warrior Obstacle Training is focused on advanced obstacle techniques and parkour style movements. In addition to the coaching we focus on developing core strength which is key to achieving the objectives of this programme.

York Leisure Centre opened in 2021, as part of the York Community Stadium Leisure Complex located in Huntington, York. The centre includes a 25m swimming pool, learner pool and splash pad. As well as a large spacious gym, fitness class studios, multi sports hall, Clip N Climb arena and 3G pitches.

Clip N Climb is a fun interactive indoor climbing arena where adults and kids 4+ can enjoy some healthy action-packed fun. No climbing experience is necessary as a full safety briefing and equipment is given before you start.

Swimming: The Main Pool is available for fitness lane swimming, and swim for all sessions The Splash Pad is shallow water paddling pool for under 8’s with an interactive water play area perfect for building water confidence. Booking also includes access to the Learner Pool. These sessions can be found under ‘Swim For All’ – select Main Pool, or Learner Pool (includes Splash Pad) Lockers take £1.

Gym and Fitness classes are available for members and non members. There are a number of fitness classes scheduled throughout the day at times to suit all.

City Screen is York’s picturesque riverside cinema and cafe-bar.  Located in the heart of York and easily accessible by public transport, we offer a varied programme of mainstream and independent movies.   The cinema is fully accessible for people with disabilities, there is a baby-change facility in certain toilets (ask for a key), and the Riverside Café-Bar is welcoming to parents and carers with children.  As well as our regular screenings, we also offer the following weekly child-friendly sessions:

• Watch With Baby – Wednesdays 11am. For parents/guardians with babies under one year old.
  Pricing is £4.70 (member) £3.70 (retired/student members) and £7.70 (standard). Babies go free!
• Toddler Time – Fridays 11.30am. 30 minutes of episodes for preschoolers and their carers. Tickets £3.30 for children, free for accompanying adults.
• Kids’ Club – Saturdays 11am. Tickets £3.30 each.

We also have regular autism-friendly screenings (3rd Sunday of the month), where we strive to create an environment welcoming for people with a range of conditions such as autism, learning disabilities and cognitive disorders. Tickets £3.30.

When films are rated U, PG, or 12A a family ticket (for two adults and two children under 15) is available, except for premium priced screenings.

At the Web Adventure Park you’ll find lots to entertain all ages whatever the weather!

Creepy Crawlies is the huge indoor play area with lots of activities including huge slides and climbing. There are separate Play Zones incorporating baby and toddler areas, a sensory baby area, sports arena, disco area, ball canons and a huge play frame for over 5s.

We have a wonderful role play village “Bugginton” with a shop, cottage, a vets and a DIY store and a Crafty Corner for children who feel creative.

Outdoors there a large park to explore which includes a mini beach, water play area, ride-ons (including pedal tractors), den building zone, tractor area, jungle bridge, wacky swings, quad bikes and more.

Our Animal Zone houses friendly chipmunks, rabbits, ponies, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, pigs and chickens. For older children and adults we have two large high ropes courses – Wired!

We have plenty of seating indoors and out and a café which serves scrumptious homemade, freshly prepared dishes! Ample parking on site.

Weekends and holidays we have an amazing addition to the park, fairground rides! These are included in the entry fee.

Go on an archaeological adventure at DIG, from the people who brought you JORVIK Viking Centre! Discover only the most exciting archaeological artefacts from the 2000 years of history hidden under the streets of York. Our four excavation pits are filled with Roman, Viking, medieval and Victorian finds, so you can grab a trowel and dig up the clues that show how people lived.

DIG is great experience for ages 5-12 with a fun play area for younger children.

Obviously play area isn’t open. We’ve had a good time and the food was lush as always.”

The Georgian house hiding a big secret…

Since 1686, the goings on at 17 Blossom Street have been York’s best kept secret. A secret that remained hidden for hundreds of years, until its residents felt safe enough to reveal it.

To the outside world, this house was York’s first school for girls. To those in the know, it was hiding an illegal convent.

The English Reformation saw Catholicism banned, but this group of brave and determined women built a Convent, including an entire Chapel, under the watchful eyes of all of their suspicious neighbours. Today, more than 300 years later, it is the oldest active Convent in England.

Discover this remarkable story of survival through stunning artefacts and engaging interactives in our fascinating exhibition.

With special activities for our younger visitors, a café and garden, the Bar Convent is a unique experience for the whole family to enjoy.

From prehistory to Romans, Vikings and the city’s medieval splendour; see some of the finest collections of archaeological and geological finds in Europe.

Don’t miss our new exhibition Star Carr: after the ice (opens 22 March). Take an epic journey back through 11.000 years of Yorkshire’s history to a time when Britain was joined to Europe. Discover more about the earliest homes in Britain and the families who settled there and help us to name the Star Carr dog. There will be lots to see and do, including a Mesolithic house in the gardens during the summer!

Visit our Jurassic Gallery to explore fossils from Yorkshire’s Jurassic Coast and find out about the lost giants and the changing worlds they inhabited 150 million years ago. Meet ‘Alan’ the dinosaur and get to know more about Dorset’s famous fossil hunter Mary Anning.

The Museum is home to many amazing finds such as the Middleham Jewel, the York Helmet and a Roman mosaic floor you can walk on. There is much to discover about Yorkshire’s past inhabitants!
