York Leisure Centre opened in 2021, as part of the York Community Stadium Leisure Complex located in Huntington, York. The centre includes a 25m swimming pool, learner pool and splash pad. As well as a large spacious gym, fitness class studios, multi sports hall, Clip N Climb arena and 3G pitches.
Clip N Climb is a fun interactive indoor climbing arena where adults and kids 4+ can enjoy some healthy action-packed fun. No climbing experience is necessary as a full safety briefing and equipment is given before you start.
Swimming: The Main Pool is available for fitness lane swimming, and swim for all sessions The Splash Pad is shallow water paddling pool for under 8’s with an interactive water play area perfect for building water confidence. Booking also includes access to the Learner Pool. These sessions can be found under ‘Swim For All’ – select Main Pool, or Learner Pool (includes Splash Pad) Lockers take £1.
Gym and Fitness classes are available for members and non members. There are a number of fitness classes scheduled throughout the day at times to suit all.

At the Web Adventure Park you’ll find lots to entertain all ages whatever the weather!
Creepy Crawlies is the huge indoor play area with lots of activities including huge slides and climbing. There are separate Play Zones incorporating baby and toddler areas, a sensory baby area, sports arena, disco area, ball canons and a huge play frame for over 5s. We have a wonderful role play village “Bugginton” with a shop, cottage, a vets and a DIY store and a Crafty Corner for children who feel creative. Term time, midweek activities for babies and toddlers, such as crafts, sensory play and music and movement all included in the off-peak admission!
Outdoors there a large park to explore which includes a mini beach, water play area, ride-ons (including pedal tractors), den building zone, tractor area, jungle bridge, wacky swings, quad bikes, go carts and more.
Our Animal Zone houses friendly chipmunks, rabbits, ponies, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, pigs and chickens. For older children and adults we have two large high ropes courses – Wired!
We have plenty of seating indoors and out and a café which serves scrumptious homemade, freshly prepared dishes! Ample parking on site.

York Art Gallery is inviting people to visit for free when it reopens its doors.
The charity York Museums Trust, which runs the gallery, hope that by removing admission charges there will be a higher number and increased diversity of visitors who will help support the gallery through donations and buying tickets for special exhibitions.
If successful, this new way of opening the gallery will allow the Trust to continue to offer free entry to its permanent collections, Centre of Ceramic Art and Aesthetica Art Prize exhibition throughout the year.
Initially the gallery will be free in support of the citywide Our Heroes Welcome Campaign.
From August 20, the permanent collections Centre of Ceramic Art and Aesthetica Art Prize will be free to all, while two new exhibitions, Views of York & Yorkshire and Your Art Gallery: Paintings Chosen By You will introduce a new paying concept of ‘pay as you feel’ with suggested amounts.
Spot the L.S. Lowry, Turner and Hockney and surround yourself with some of the best ceramic art in the world at York Art Gallery. With a programme of changing exhibitions and events for all ages, there is always something new to see and do.

Fashion and Textiles Tour: £18 per person
From caps to corsets, and from gowns to children’s clogs, every object has a story. Join Dr Faye Prior from York Castle Museum, as she introduces you to some of these fascinating stories while on a journey through 400 years of fashion.
Based in the Fashion gallery of Shaping the Body, the talk will reveal the hidden histories of some of the gorgeous garments on show. Although social distancing means we can’t handle the objects, you will be able to view some up close. There will be seating provided so you can choose whether to sit or stand.
The tours will take place from August 1 and then on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, between 11am and 3:30pm. To visit, book online.
