We run lots of fantastic competitions for the parents and families of York. Check back here regularly to see what is on offer.
…So much so, that we’ve organised a competition so that one lucky family can win a Christmas at Spilmans too! See the details below for how to enter and you can also enter via our FACEBOOK PAGE and on INSTAGRAM too.
I went with my daughters aged 6 & 9 – they said it’s one of the best Christmas experiences they’ve ever had!
Highlight for them was the snow room where they could build a snowman, play to shoot the snowballs through a hoop as well as writing a postcard to Santa.
They also loved the story time with Santa which felt like such a special experience… really relaxing and felt pretty traditional.
See our photos here to get an idea of what it was like….
Spilman’s Christmas is open from now until 23rd December 2021, you can head down to Spilman’s Farm for some magical festive fun… and instead of picking your own fruit and veg….you get to PICK YOUR OWN Christmas!!! The Experience includes storytelling with Santa, a trip to Mrs Claus’s Gingerbread and Toy Workshop and lots more…
On arrival at the farm you’ll be met by your team of cheeky elves who are going to guide you on your magical and immersive Christmas adventure.
You’ll get the chance to choose a festive hat and pick a craft activity to do as we get ready to set off.
The first stop on our adventure sees our barn transformed with some Christmas magic and….SNOW!!! Lots of it.
Take a seat as your Elves tell you all about snowflakes and where they come from…you can then have fun with building a snowman, throwing snowballs through the hoop game and writing a postcard to Santa as you get ready to meet the big man himself…
And now it’s time for…SANTA!!!!!!
Join Father Christmas as he welcomes you into his warm and cosy grotto to tell you a story that will warm all your festive hearts.
You’ll also get chance to take photos with Santa before you head off for the rest of your Christmas adventure.
Here you’ll get to PICK YOUR OWN gingerbread biscuit….and with the help of Mrs Claus and the elves you’ll decorate it with all kinds of tasty toppings and then take it away for you to enjoy at home.
You’ll also get to chance to PICK YOUR OWN Christmas present from Mrs Claus’ extensive display….
And to finish things off everyone’s invited to a good old fashioned Christmas disco!! There’ll be free hot chocolate, mulled wine or cider (for the grown ups..) and the chance to dance and sing along to all the old festive faves….

Mumbler, Sarah, went along yesterday to try ut the ‘Toddle into Christmas’ experience and she’s reviewed it here. Plus you can see details at the end of the review to enter our competition to win your own Toddle into Christmas
Today we’ve been to visit Toddle into Christmas – a festive event ran by The Web Adventure Park aimed at preschoolers. This is happening wed-fri throughout December, with their main Christmas event happening at the weekends. This offering is a scaled down version which is absolutely perfect for little ones still wanting to experience some Christmas magic!
I took my daughter Lil who is almost 2 and we had a brilliant day. We booked online and selected the 10:30 slot – this was for our Santa visit but we could arrive at any time from 9.30 and stay as long as we wanted afterwards. It cost £12 for her and £6 for me and I think it was worth every penny!
It was really quiet when we arrived so we enjoyed some indoor play for the first hour. I was impressed to see a new sensory area set out for babies, as well as new items in the main baby area. I love that they are always adding/improving their offering here!
We headed outside after about an hour to find Santa! The grotto is located behind the animal area which took a while to get to as there are so many distractions along the way – kind of wish I’d brought the buggy to get her along a bit faster!! At the grotto we were greeted by a friendly elf and then there was a little winding path leading to the grotto with a few photo opportunities along the way. There were lots of twinkling lights and it must look even more magical after dark!
We had to wait a few minutes to see Santa as there were a couple of families in front of us but it was soon our turn. Santa was lovely, chatting to Lil and it didn’t feel rushed at all. We were allowed to take some photos and Lil received a gift too. We then said hello to the two beautiful reindeer on the way out.
After visiting Santa we had a go on a few of the rides. They only have the younger kids’ rides available (carousel, cars, horses, hot air balloons and teacups) but this was more than enough and they were always quiet – no queuing at all and the staff operating them were really friendly and helpful.
Even though it was freezing cold, Lil still absolutely loved the amazing outdoor play – she spent ages pottering around the mini golf and the sandpit – I did draw the line at the water play this time though as it was only 2 degrees!
We warmed up again inside and enjoyed our lunch. It got a bit busier but never felt full or overcrowded and it was lovely to see all the children in their festive outfits, and to see the whole place decorated for Christmas.
I’d definitely recommend this event as something special to do with little ones in the run up to Christmas – we had the best time!
There are not one but TWO prizes that The Web Adventure have kindly offered for this competition.
To enter, simply complete the details below with the word ‘Toddle’ or ‘Festival’ in the competition comment depending on which prize you’d like for your family.
Competition closes at midnight on Wednesday 8th December and the winner will be picked at random and contacted by Thursday 9th December 2021.
