Simon joined Hethertons in 1981 and has specialised in family law for the past 20 years. He has extensive experience of divorce and separation, drafting cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements and acting in children’s cases.
Simon is a member of Resolution, an accredited member of the Law Society’s Family Panel and a Resolution-accredited specialist in financial and children proceedings. He is also a trained collaborative lawyer and a qualified mediator.

Barbara joined Hethertons almost 14 years’ ago and specialises in drafting wills and codicils, drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney and registering them with the Office of the Public Guardian. She also has extensive experience of advising newly-bereaved clients, applying for Grants of Probate and administering estates, advising the elderly, registering Enduring Powers of Attorney and applying for Deputyship Orders.
Barbara is a member of the Private Client Section of the Law Society, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).

David qualified as a solicitor in 1993 having trained at a leading national law firm, where he eventually became a partner. He then went on to be a partner at another national law firm, before becoming head of the employment team at a top 100 practice.

Sarah joined Hethertons Solicitors in 2018, having previously held a senior position at one of Yorkshire’s top 20 law firms in Leeds.
Having qualified as a solicitor in 2007 following studies at The College of Law York, Sarah has a unique perspective on the delivery of legal services in the region and thanks to her position as an accredited Resolution specialist, she is able to offer up to the minute advice on a range of complex matrimonial disputes.
