Our Musical-in-a-Week workshops will give students with a passion for Performing Arts an opportunity to take to the stage this summer.
Taking place in The King’s Theatre, QE’s full-scale professional venue, budding performers can take on the challenge of learning and performing some well-known musicals in just one week, working alongside industry professionals. The two workshops running will be Shrek The Musical (9-13 August, 5-11 years), or Mamma Mia (9-13 August, 11-18 years).
KS3 Science Camp

Our KS3 Science Camp will be an explosion of fun, giving an opportunity for children to develop practical application skills and knowledge through fun experiments to help prepare them for GCSE Science.
They will carry out a range of different experiments and the theory behind them. Activities will include things such as investigating a crime scene and learning how to collect evidence to solve a ‘murder mystery’, looking at how the body moves through dissections and looking at forces involved in building cars.

We made a little error when setting our term dates this year! With the busy time we’ve had with lockdowns, re-openings AND the opening of The Little Gym York, we got our term dates wrong! Therefore we will be continuing our regular schedule of classes until July 25th, meaning that members receive an extra week of classes absolutely free! A great time to use up any make up classes you need to catch up on!

Wildlife Academy at the Zoo is a brand-new three-day course for young wildlife enthusiasts to learn all about animals and nature in our award-winning Wildlife Park and Animal Management Unit. Available for 8-11-year olds and 12-15-year olds, the academy runs from 9:00AM until 16:30PM (early drop-off 08:30AM/late pick-up 17:00PM).
Each day focuses on a different aspect of zookeeping, with activities including; interactive workshops with our zoo animals, behind the scenes tours, fun games and activities, wildlife surveying and more! Our park is home to a wide variety of species, from farm yard animals to exotic bugs, frogs and lizards – we’re sure to pack enough activities to satisfy even the biggest animal lover!

The York City Knights Foundation are set for their busiest summer ever as they will be delivering over 60 sessions this summer. The aim is not only to inspire the next generation of Knights players, but also to play a vital role in helping make summer more enjoyable after a testing school year for many youngsters and families.
Events will be spread across the city in order to reach out to children living in different wards and help to keep children entertained, active and fed this summer, with free food and drink distributed at events.
The activities on offer will comprise of inflatable sessions, our mobile skate park, specific Rugby sessions, as well as multi-sport sessions. All events are free of charge, with the exception of our day camps in York.
Sessions will take place in Wheldrake, Tang Hall, Acomb, Heworth, Woodthorpe, Dringhouses, Westfield, Clifton, Bishopthorpe, Huntington, New Earswick, Haxby and Strensall.
We will also be running a Girls development camp and a Holiday club in Riccall in Selby, specifically for children who are eligible for free school meals.

Summer of Activities at York Sport
Our award winning, multi-sport Summer camps return this summer. Each day is designed to keep everyone active, making friends and trying something new. Each week your child will try a wide range of activities from athletics to volleyball, and we are even hosting a special fencing workshop with Harrogate fencing club! There is no better way to stay active this summer, and discover something new.
Also making a return this summer, our Intensive swimming! We have courses for every age and level of ability, aimed to get your little ones swimming and enjoying their time in the water over a short period.
Lastly our Junior Triathlon Sessions are running over the summer, these run, bike and optional swimming sessions take place every week and no experience is necessary! We have also introduced ‘Mini-Tri ’ so the even-littler one can give it a ‘tri’
