This course will provide a range of strategies to help adults to support children and young people to manage their behaviour.
Topics include:
-Acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, what is it and what do we do about it?
-Why people behave like they do, exploring physiological and psychological developments, and the impact this can have on children and young people’s behaviour
-Rewards and sanctions
-Dealing with challenging incidents.
Learners will receive a pack of resources and a certificate on completion of the course. Lunch is also provided – please advise us of any specific dietary or other requirements.
This entry level course is suited to anyone who works or volunteers with children, or has children of their own, and would like to feel more confident about managing their behaviour. However, it is important to note that this course is specifically designed to focus on employability and volunteering within the children’s workforce and is not a parenting intervention project.
