Ms Maskell would like to invite all York residents to come along for an informal chat about access to facilities and how we can make York more user friendly for everybody.
It is an opportunity for all residents and providers of services or facilities to share views and aspirations in this subject area in an informal and constructive way. All ideas on how visiting or living in York can be made easier and more enjoyable are welcome.
It is well known that accessibility is a subject close to Ms Maskell – in her previous career she was Head of Equalities at Unite, and now works in Parliament to highlight inequalities, most recently questioning the accessibility of the UK’s heritage sites.
So whether you would like to see more suitable toilets and pavements, or more consideration by planners in shops and places of entertainment, or anything else, do come along and tell us your ideas.
There will be refreshments and activities for children too.
