A new year is always a great time to try something new for you and your mini mumbler – and the fantastic children’s service and class providers of York have lots of new things to offer to try.
We’ve gathered the information together here so you can choose from these new offers, new classes and activities in York in 2022.
Calm and supportive parent and infant groups in York.
These groups offer a uniquely peaceful and supportive space for parents with babies up to toddling. In these groups you learn how to create a co-operative and loving relationship with your baby, and see how self-initiated movement and play time is so crucial. You make new friends and can join a special facebook group where helpful articles and other offerings are given. There is tea and cake to welcome you and a selection of eco friendly appropriate first play objects for your baby to explore in a well designed and appropriately equipped room. We relax, observe and see how competant and curious babies are. We finish each session with songs and rhymes.
The groups are held in a beautiful room, are 1 ½ hours long and run on Mondays 9.45-11.15 and 12.00-1.30 and Wednesdays 9.45-11.15. There are a maximum of 8 mums/dads to a group so there is time to get to know each other and for the space to be calm and friendly. The first taster session is FREE.
We start again on 10th January 2022

Rachel mum of Adam:
We began lessons when Adam was just 3 months old. I was worried at first that he might cry throughout the lesson, particularly when going underwater, but I needn’t have worried – he loved it! He is constantly smiling as we sing songs and sway through the water. We are now on our 3rd term with Baby Swimmers and are still enjoying it. I have returned to work and swimming is the only class we have continued with. Adam has progressed brilliantly and I find myself beaming with pride after every lesson. He can now hold onto the side by himself and is even attempting to climb out which is pretty amazing to say he is only 11 months old and can’t even walk yet! Massive thanks to Baby Swimmers.
Baby Swimmers & Swimmers Academy offer swimming classes for babies from 6 weeks to teens in York, Stamford Bridge, Pocklington, Leeds, Bradford and Harrogate. A chance for you and your little one to spend quality bonding time together as well as learn water safety skills or for the older ones to learn or improve their swimming technique.
