Ever fancied yourself as a wannabe Top Gun? This is your chance to climb into some of your favourite aircraft housed at the museum in Elvington. These are likely to include the Harrier, Dakota, Nimrod, Vampire, Dragonfly, Skeeter, Tornado, Buccaneer, Jet Provost., Meteor WS788, Devon and Jaguar. It is hoped that the recently acquired Shackleton cockpit section will also be included. Please note that some may be weather dependent.
This is a special ticket day and specific Open Cockpit tickets are needed for this event. Please note that usual ticketing, including returns, is suspended. We strongly advise pre-booking, as this event can sell out. Tickets are £20 per adult, £10 per child (under 4s free). Purchase your ticket on the Air Museum website here.
✈ Keep an eye on the Yorkshire Air Museum website for the definitive list of available aircraft.
🛫 There is no pre-booking of timeslots, so a queuing system will be in place.
✈ A lunch break will take place around 12.30pm so please expect cockpits to be closed for around 30 to 45 minutes.
🛫 Please understand that some aircraft were designed to be flown by young, fit, agile pilots and may be unsuitable for access for everyone. The Museum trusts that visitors will understand the limitations that may be placed on access from time to time.
✈ Wear sensible clothing and footwear to help ensure you get the most from your experience.
