The conversation, led by City of York Council is being used to shape a vision for the city centre.
This has involved listening to the views, ideas and suggestions from families on what you want the city centre to look like in the future.
The council has used the feedback to develop a draft vision for the city centre.

The vision is split into 8 themes: a family friendly city centre, events, experiences & investment in public spaces, an attractive city offer at all times, making tourism work for York, embracing our riversides, a city centre community which is welcoming to all, thriving businesses and no empty buildings and heritage and our modern city.
The first, and one of the most crucial of these themes is around creating a family-friendly city centre.
Families are key to helping create a vibrant city-centre.
Whilst the city is a popular destination for visiting families, it is less well used by local residents, with issues cited around: affordability, ease of access, suitable facilities, appropriate attractions and an unwelcoming atmosphere at certain times.
In addition to this, a recent York Mumbler poll highlighted that many York families didn’t feel that the city centre was family-friendly.
The Council wants to attract local families into the centre, and wants to improve basic facilities such as toilets.
