The York Chocolate Festival starts on Wednesday 16 April and runs until Sunday 20 April 2025. It showcases all things sweet and chocolate from local independent businesses!
A great event for the Easter holidays, York Chocolate Festival will be located on Parliament Street and at venues around the city from 10 am until 5 pm daily. Entry to the festival and market is FREE, plus there are some activities and events that require purchasing tickets. See some highlights below!

The York Chocolate Festival Market 🍫
The Market will be on Parliament Street and hosts a selection of chocolatiers, confectioners, and everything in between! There will even be some traditional savoury products with a sweet twist available! Everything will be from independent traders, local to the area.
There will be an activity area with a full programme of activities including chocolate lollipop making, tastings and hands-on cookery workshops.

The Chocolate Taste Trail 🍫
You can enjoy a walking trail around York with an opportunity to try samples from some of York’s best food outlets by visiting a range of delis, restaurants and suppliers.
You need to book and buy your tickets online (£8.50 per person) and then will need to collect your booklet before starting from the Information Point on Parliament Street between 10 am-4 pm. The Chocolate Cafe Bar & St Crux Cafe ☕️
Chocolate Café & Bar: Street Food with Chocolate – a Bar with Cocoa
Sweet and savoury snacks and meals will be available to buy, alongside a variety of drinks, some of which involve chocolate! From chocolate stout to hot chocolate and much more!
Location – Parliament Street (Marquee between Halifax and Barclays)
Open: From 11am every day of the festival
St Crux Café
Enjoy a tea or coffee (and many a sweet treat!) in St Crux Hall. You’ll also find the festival hub for family Easter activities which include Face Painting, Cookery Workshops, Egg Painting, and Eggs vs Bunnies Game
Location – St Crux Hall, The Pavement (next to Shambles)

Ashley McCarthy, Chocolate Sculpture
An experienced chocolatier and professionally trained chef who has starred on Channel 4’s Extreme Chocolate Makers will be showcasing his chocolate sculpturing skills LIVE during the festival. Free to watch!
Location – Parliament Street (Marquee between Halifax and Barclays), from 11am to 5pm
Family Easter Egg Hunt
A self-guided walking tour, answering clues along the way, and finishing with decorating your own Easter Egg Chocolate Bar with York Cocoa Works. You will get a guide map and enjoy some activities at York Explore Library Gardens, Holy Trinity Church, and then at the end decorate an Easter Egg Chocolate Bar with York Cocoa Works.
Pre-book online or purchase your guide map at the information point (while stocks last) £5 to cover 1 place to decorate an egg at the end (others may accompany the walker for free)
