The York Snooks Trail from Make it York will be on for 8 weeks and is now launched and live!
Come and visit the York Mumbler Fostered Snook at York Library on Museum Street and take part in our Snooks Competition to be in with the chance of winning a £100 York Bid Gift card. Simply complete any of our 3 Snooky activities and gain an entry into our competition for each part you complete!
Pick up a competition sheet in the library or download, print and complete it at home.
Once you’ve completed our Snooky activities, please provide information at the bottom of the sheet and post it in our competition box inside York Explore Library on Museum Street. You will receive an entry for each question you answer correctly (max 3 per person).
The trail is in support of St Leonards Hospice so we’re so proud to be a part of it. We’re proud to support both St Leonards and the City of York Council fostering team – 2 extremely worthwhile organisations!
The Mumbler Fostered Snook is at York Central Library, we think it will be the Snook’s favourite place, given the love of books that the Snook has! It’s also an ideal location for families to come and enjoy the Library and Cafe.
This will be the ‘must visit’ Snook of the trail for families so come say hi!
York Snooks are a bookish breed, often found in cosy corners with their faces buried inside the pages of a good book.
They’ve been here just as long as even The Norman House (the oldest building in York) but they are a little more hidden away than the historic sights of the city that you are familiar with.
However recently sightings of Snooks have skyrocketed, and it looks like these friendly folk have been enjoying some sightseeing around the city walls.
The Snook shown here is unpainted but expect a vibrantly coloured Snook for the Mumbler Fostered version!
